Warriors v Knights – 10.11.2017 – Betting Tip
The Ram Slam T20 Challenge 2017 is finally here and we could not be more excited for it. The tournament will open with a match between last season’s runners up Warriors and VKB Knights, who had a miserable last season and will be looking to improve on that. We bring you our experts betting tips and sports betting strategies for the opening game of the tournament.
The Friday’s match at St Georges Park in Port Elizabeth sees Warriors enter the game as big favorites, having come off a strong last season where they impressed with a strong second place finish. Beyond this, Warriors have a great record against the Knights, winning four and drawing one of their last five encounters.
Warriors’ excellent record against the Knights and their overall impressive T20 performances cannot but instill the confidence into them and will certainly play a factor in Friday’s game. Warriors’ batting duo of Colin Ingram and JJ Smuts have been impressive lately, with Ingram scoring 286 runs last year and Smuts managing an astounding 371. On the other hand, their bowling will rely heavily on Magala and Birch who both made it into the top 3 pacers of last season’s competition with 13 and 17 wickets.
Last season was a major disappointment for Knights, who struggled to catch any pace and ended up with just three wins in ten league games, far below their expectations for the season. Nevertheless, a new season is upon us and one can never tell how teams will come out into the new year, so completely dismissing Knights would be a major mistake.
David Miller is an impressive batter who plays for the Knights and who just recently made a 35-ball hundred against Bangladesh, which was the fastest to date in T20, which means we may just see some impressive stuff from him in this match as well. He will be joined by Rilee Rossouw on the bat, as the team’s second best batsman will no doubt be another player to watch. When it comes to bowling, Marchant de Lange managed 9 wickets in 7 matches last season and Knights will be hoping that he can repeat such form this year and help them out.

Head to Head and Stats
Warriors had an impressive spell of form last season and managed to win six of their ten league games, coming second and almost winning the entire thing. On the other hand, Knights were extremely sub-par, winning only three games and not really looking too dangerous at any point.
Looking at the head to head stats for the two sides, it is also easy to see Warriors as the favorites. The team has won 13 of their 26 T20 matches to date, winning four of the last five. Furthermore, Warriors impressive form and individual performances of both their batters and bowlers mean that Warriors will come into the game in top form and in high spirits.
The season is yet to start and pretty much anything can happen, but looking at the statistics alone, Warriors are definitely the favorite to take the glory on their home pitch, which is yet another advantage for them, and start the season off with a bang, aiming for the elusive title they so nearly missed last season.
Our Betting Prediction
The fact that we have not yet seen the two teams play in this season’s competition is a bit of a downside in terms of predicting a winner, but with both teams currently priced at 1.90 at bet365, we cannot but put our money on Warriors, who have had better individual and team form in recent months and simply look like a more composed and higher quality squad. We expect that a home win bet at 1.90 will result in favorable returns, and you can place your bets on it at a number of betting sites in Kenya right now.
